Halloween Themed ‘Cobweb’ Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Happy Halloween everyone!!! It’s that time of year where the leaves start to change colors, the nights start to get colder, and everyone dresses up in costumes for all kinds of themed parties!  If you happen to be going to one of those parties, this chocolate peanut butter pie is sure to be a winner!  It’s super easy to throw together, doesn’t require any baking, and after some time in the refrigerator, you’re good to go!

Peanut butter pie is one of my favorite desserts.  I personally think peanut butter and chocolate are one of the greatest food marriages in history.  It’s pretty much a sure winner any time! This time, I did a little ‘twist’ on my peanut butter pie, and instead of my typically ganache topping, we’re drizzle the top with ganache and peanut butter, running a knife through it, and creating a ‘cobweb’ on top!  It’s fun, great project for the kiddos, and delicious to boot! So grab your mixer and let’s start making PB pie!

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream + 1.5 T for ganache
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter + 3 T for topping
  • 1/2 cup of cream cheese
  • A small splash of vanilla
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 pre-made graham cracker pie crust

Instructions:

In a mixer, pour in heavy whipping cream.  Beat with ‘whip’ attachment until it begins to form stiff peaks.  Add in powdered sugar, peanut butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and salt.  Beat until well combined (you may need to scrape down sides and mix well).  Pour peanut butter filling into pre-made graham cracker pie crust, spread evenly.  In small microwave safe bowl, add chocolate chips and reserved 1.5 T of whipping cream.  Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between until chocolate is completely melted and a silky chocolate mixture has been created (about 1 minute).  Pour chocolate evenly over pie, carefully spreading evenly.  In another small microwave safe bowl, put 3 T of peanut butter and microwave for 30 seconds – 1 minute, until PB is ‘liquidy.’  Carefully pour in circles over chocolate.  With a knife starting from the outside of the pie, carefully push through chocolate and PB layer creating the ‘cobweb.’  Repeat around edges until you’ve made your desired web.  Place in fridge for 2-4 hours (or until solid) and serve!  Enjoy!
